Meet our Opera Camp Creative Fellow 2026: Khana-Fani Fishel.
Fani is 17 years old. Originally from Ukraine, she has been living in Paris for the past four years — arriving without a word of French, with one clear goal: to become an opera singer.
She started singing at 6. At 12, she won first prize at one of the largest lyrical competitions in Ukraine. After relocating to Paris in 2022, she found her way to the École Normale de Musique de Paris, studying in the class of Sylvie Valayre. Today she is enrolled at the Maîtrise de Radio France — a specialist programme combining academic studies with daily music training and monthly performances.
Fani applied to our open call dedicated to participants accepted to the Opera Camps in Salzburg — a project led by the Wiener Philharmoniker @passwort_klassik
This July, she will spend a week at Schloss Arenberg, fully immersed in a real production of Saint François d’Assise. She will work alongside peers who share the same path and take part in the final performance at the Mozarteum University.
