Creative Fellowship is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Südtiroler Kulturinstitut to support young dancers in participating in the Bolzano Danza Workshops, a respected summer training program held annually in Bolzano, South Tyrol, alongside Italy’s leading dance festival.

Founded in 1961 and based in Bolzano, the Südtiroler Kulturinstitut is a cultural organization dedicated to fostering German-language cultural life in South Tyrol. Through concerts, theatre, lectures, and educational programs, the institute promotes artistic quality and intercultural dialogue throughout the region.

Through this collaboration, Creative Fellowship and the Südtiroler Kulturinstitut will offer a fully funded one-week fellowship to dancers aged 15–18 who are facing challenging life circumstances — with the aim of reducing financial barriers to meaningful professional development.

For nearly 40 years, the Bolzano Danza Workshops have drawn students from South Tyrol, across Italy, German-speaking Europe, Luxembourg, France, Spain, and even the United States. Held each July, the workshops provide participants with the opportunity to develop their technical and creative skills while engaging with some of the most influential choreographers of our time.

Since 1985, the program has grown from 96 to over 750 participants annually. More than 400 choreographers from five continents have presented their work as part of the broader Bolzano Danza festival. In 2025, the workshops will offer a wide range of styles — from classical to contemporary — taught at all levels, from beginner through professional. Each 90-minute class is led by outstanding international faculty, with many sessions accompanied by live music.

We believe that independent feedback, technical growth, and exposure to stylistic diversity are essential to a dancer’s education. However, access to such opportunities is often limited by cost. This fellowship seeks to change that.

The fellowship will include:

  • Participation in the Bolzano Danza Workshops, July 21–25, 2025
  • Three 90-minute classes per day, Monday through Friday (15 total)
  • Half-board accommodation at a lodging facility selected and organized by Creative Fellowship
  • Round-trip airport transfers to and from Bolzano
  • 24/7 guardianship provided by a Creative Fellowship educator

The open call for applications, including eligibility details and application instructions, will be published soon.
