European Exchange Project “Exit the Room” calls for young art lovers, aspiring artists, theater educators.

EXIT THE ROOM PROJECT

The EXIT THE ROOM project, funded by the EU ERASMUS+ program, is designed to bring young adults interested in art, travelling and European exchange. The aim is to help next generation of creators to design their own programs and create new forms of discussion and mediation in art.

Between the years 2021 – 2027 the network of partners (festivals and theaters) are working together on creating platforms for aspiring artists to exchange ideas, develop further and deal with the theater for a young audience.

EXIT THE ROOM has already taken place twice. In each run the project produces a new Next Generation heritage and network of partnerships and contacts that will have an impact beyond the project’ lifetime.

YOU ARE

  • Between 18 and 25 years old
  • Young artists, in training or young professionals in one of the areas:
  • Performing or visual arts, theatre, dance or music education, etc.
  • Open-minded and interested in exchanging ideas with other artists
  • In 2023 / 2024, residents ofAustria, the Rhine-Main, North Rhine-Westphalia and Bremen areas can participate

  • Travel and international meetings

  • The joint development of artistic output

THE PROGRAM FEATURES

Networking of the next generation with each other

Expert talks and networking meetings with the EXIT THE ROOM network

Viewing plays for young audiences and exchanging ideas with the participating artists

Accreditation for the festivals “Starke Stücke” and “spleen*graz”

Development of new forms of dialogue, reflection and meeting of young people around theatrical performances

Own artistic try-outs as part of the 3rd Residency at spleen*graz

Coaching by professionals from the EXIT THE ROOM network

THE PROGRAM FOKUSES ON

Experimenting with artistic approaches in the encounter of theater professionals and young audiences (creating dialogue spaces, creating discursive installations, developing performative mediation impulses)

THE PROGRAM COVERS

EXIT THE ROOM finances the travel and accommodation costs (accommodation and meals on the event days, admission to the performances of the program) through ERASMUS+ in the amount of about € 2.500,- per person

Accommodation takes place in shared rooms

By applying, you commit yourself to being available for all three residencies for the entire project period and to participate in the program.

The condition for the application and participation is the continuous presence at all three residencies.
