Bolzano Dance Workshops Fellowship
Attention Pre-Professional Dancers age 15-18!
Creative Fellowship Foundation, in collaboration with Südtiroler Kulturinstitut and Bolzano Danza Workshops 2025, is proud to announce a fellowship opportunity aimed at supporting driven and passionate pre-professional dancers aged 15 – 18 from EU and Eastern European non-EU member states that find themselves in financial need or other life challenging circumstances.
This fellowship offers young dancers at the time of the BOLZANO DANZA WORKSHOPS 2025 a chance to participate in a learning environment with international peers, develop new skills to boost training and enhance artistic performance of an applicant.
Our goal is to award and recognize a student with exemplary skill or interest in dance who demonstrates a high level of commitment, creativity, and technical/performance ability.
What the Fellowship covers
The fellowship comprises a one-week workshop participation in 3 courses per day,
90 minutes each of Bolzano Danza Workshops program (altogether 15 lessons from Monday to Friday),
a one-week half-board stay at the lodging facility chosen, organised and paid for by Creative Fellowship
a round trip from the airport closest to Bolzano.

How can I apply?
To apply for the scholarship, candidates should submit:
- One-page statement on what your life challenging situation is and why you want to participate in Bolzana Danza Workshops,
- Video link (YouTube or Vimeo) with the variation of your choice (4 minutes max).
Other technical requirements for the video file include the following:
— Please ensure that your whole body is in the frame of the video, and you are dancing in a clear and safe space.
— Links to videos on public sites such as “YouTube” should be unlisted or password protected, but not marked private.
- Two types of photographs
- a) Portrait with a clear background. “Selfies” are not acceptable.
- b) Staged photo in a dance position that shows the line of the body.
— Include the applicant’s full name in the file name of the photograph
— Use jpg, jpeg or png file format and make sure that individual images
— Do not exceed 10MB in file size.
*Legal Guardianship Authorization:
Parents of the selected scholar will be required to provide a notarized letter appointing Creative Fellowship representative as the official guardian during the scholar’s one-week participation at the Bolzano Danza Festival.
Selection process
An internal Bolzana Danza Workshops’ jury selects the scholarship holder based on the distinctive explanation of his/her life or financially challenging situation and performance excellence demonstrated in the attached video.
ABOUT BOLZANO DANZA WORKSHOPS
For 40 years, students and young people from South Tyrol and all of Italy, from German-speaking Europe, from Luxembourg, France, Spain and even from the USA, have been pouring into Bozen at the end of July. Here they are offered the opportunity to learn dance, develop their movement skills and see the works of some of the greatest international choreographers onstage. The numbers speak for themselves: In 1985 the number of participants was 96. That number has grown to 900 participants in the years 2007 to 2012! In recent years, the number of participants has settled at around 750. Over 400 choreographers from 5 continents have presented their work in Bolzano.
In 2025 the workshops offer a huge spectrum of dance styles, many being offered for various levels, beginner through professional. Each lesson is 90 minutes in length, many are taught with live musicians and all are led by the highest qualtity of teaching talent!
