We are thrilled to announce that as part of our Mentorship chapter, we successfully assisted our fellow, Vladislava Danyliuk, an emerging opera singer, in securing a spot in the Girls Who Conduct Virtual High School-College Mentorship Program. This esteemed program is organized by Dr. Kaitlin Bove and Tanatchaya (Tanya) Chanphanitpornkit, two inspiring conductors dedicated to empowering young women and non-binary musicians. From performing at Carnegie Hall to directing award-winning bands, their expertise and passion for music education are unparalleled.

We congratulate Vlada on being awarded a full scholarship for the program.

Vlada will join the program as one of the 36 mentees in the 2024-25 cohort. She will be among many young women and non-binary musicians who have completed the program and gone on to achieve great opportunities in conducting and music leadership since 2020. To complete the program successfully, Vlada will participate fully in an 8-session Zoom program. Mentees are expected to attend all sessions unless ill or faced with an unavoidable conflict.

Vladislava Danyliuk first applied for the Creative Fellowship in 2018, hoping to be chosen for participation in the Opera Camps in Salzburg. At that time, the organizing committee rejected her application, citing that she was too professional for the general level of the campers. She reapplied a few times and in 2020, she was finally invited by the festival for a private workshop with the world-renowned voice coach Evamaria Wieser. In 2022, we also assisted her in obtaining a scholarship with the Neojiba program, founded by Brazilian conductor and pianist Ricardo Castro. This year, Vlada completed her Bachelor’s Degree in opera singing at the Odessa National Music Academy named after Nezhdanova and was accepted into its MA program.

About the Girls Who Conduct High School-College Virtual Mentorship Program:

This program is designed for young women and non-binary musicians ages 16-22 (or high school juniors through undergraduate seniors) with little to no conducting experience. The program offers an introductory survey of conducting and music leadership skills, covering topics such as conducting technique basics, career and resume building, repertoire programming, rehearsal techniques, and building confidence.

The program will take place on Zoom once a month from August-November 2024 and January-April 2025, from 8:00-9:30 PM Eastern Time. The structure includes 30-minute discussions with host mentors Kaitlin Bove and Tanya Chanphanitpornkit, followed by 60-minute special topic activities with rotating guest mentors. The program will accept 36 mentees, all of whom will receive a full scholarship to participate.
