Kimberly Patricia Ceron Gil and Maria Isabel Leiva Castillo from Guatemala, Viktorija Koceva and Gjorgi Stevkov from Macedonia and Karina Tsipovyaz and Vladislav Bondarenko from Ukraine have successfully completed their one-week tuition in Wozzeck Opera Camp. As their final challenge Solway Fellows together with other 36 young talents took part in the Wozzeck performance staged in Salzburg’s Republic hall. The play was developed and rehearsed by the camp participants under the thorough supervision of professional tutors in singing, music, costume and stage designing. While Gjorgi Stevkov played accordion in the orchestra, the girls had an opportunity to express themselves in singing. After the show the Fellows said it was an important week for them. From their personal daily experience they have learned the convenience of communicating in English. They explained that speaking the same language with the rest of the scholars and tutors in the camp helped them to get to know new people and increase their music skills. They also expressed interest in continuing studying English and desire to communicate their experience to the applicants of the year 2018. They said they would be more than happy to share their knowledge with those who would follow their steps.
We thank Kimberly Patricia Ceron Gil and Maria Isabel Leiva Castillo from Guatemala, Viktorija Koceva and Gjorgi Stevkov from Macedonia and Karina Tsipovyaz and Vladislav Bondarenko from Ukraine for their devoted participation in the Solway Music Fellowship Program!
